About the Project


This project represents an unsolicited mobile app UI/UX functionality & re-design, and a brand strategy concept envisioned for A&W, aimed at enhancing the overall user experience of their mobile app. While not commissioned by A&W, it serves as a visionary proposal for potential improvements to their digital dining platform.

All images featured in this concept belong to the original content owned by aw.ca and have been utilized to enrich the design while respecting their brand identity.

The Problem:

The central challenge addressed in this concept was the user experience within the A&W app, which was perceived as lengthy and complex. Notably, the absence of coupons, offers, and a rewards program felt outdated in comparison to industry standards.

The Solution:

The proposed solution revolves around a comprehensive redesign of the app's dashboard and order processing system. Although only the initial three pages have been designed as a concept, the envisioned operational flow is detailed below:

UI/UX Design:

  • The project encompasses a general UI/UX redesign, focusing on enhancing user interactions, aesthetics, and usability.

Login Page:

  • The original app's design employed a full-image background, which could be overwhelming. In the concept, the design retains the essence of an A&W product shot while adopting a more streamlined and less distracting aesthetic.

Dashboard:

  • Unlike the current app, which lacks a dashboard, this concept introduces a user-friendly dashboard. The dashboard allows users to access recent promotions, navigate the menu effortlessly, and readily access promotions and coupons. Additionally, it integrates a rewards points system, aligning with industry trends.
  • A location section has been added, allowing users to conveniently set multiple or temporary locations, catering to various scenarios.

Menu Page:

  • The redesigned menu page offers a larger, more modern design that enhances readability. Users can access detailed information and pricing for each menu item and add items to their cart directly from this page.
  • The purchase process streamlines dining options (pick-up, delivery, takeout, etc.) during checkout, eliminating the need to select them before browsing the menu or exploring offers. This user-centric approach aims to simplify and improve the overall digital dining experience within the A&W app.
